Melbourne is home to the newest restaurant in the 'Fifteen' ‘family’ which was started by chef Jamie Oliver in the UK. Melbourne local Tobie Puttock is the Executive Head Chef at Fifteen Melbourne. Having spent 2 ½ years working with Jamie at 'Fifteen' in London, Tobie has come home to share the ‘Fifteen’ opportunity with young Melbournians.

25 Young people came on board in July after an exciting interview process that saw some of Melbourne’s most passionate young people come through the stages. For the past few weeks they've been studying at the Box Hill Institute of TAFE. Soon they’ll be taking their first steps into their new careers by doing work experience in restaurants around Melbourne before they enter fifteen melbourne for twelve months. The Team have had a great run so far with sourcing trips to local Melbourne markets, Oliveria in Prahran and cook offs that have fed the restaurant construction workers, friends and supporters of 'Fifteen' as well as members of the general public.

The concept behind the restaurant is to train disadvantaged young people to work in the hospitality industry and become qualified chefs. The 115 Collins Street position is ideally situated in the heart of the central business district, and will be officially opened by Oliver later this year... thats like near where im gona work next year OMG i might see him around WAhAaaAaaHOOOOOOOOOOoooooO well if any of you really wanted to be a chef and wanted to be one of jamie's apprentice just apply next year cos applications for 2006 are closed, but you can register your interest for 2007 by following this link: http://www.fifteentrainee.drm-za.com/ very disappointed that i cant joint but ohhHhh well others wanted a chance to be one !!!
